  • Yes. Any eligible family member (parent, grandparent, etc.) may serve as a caregiver once trained and approved, but total caregiving hours and individual work limits must align with Medicaid guidelines.

  • The training program is completely free for family caregivers. Our 86-hour online course covers all the essentials—basic medical care, emergency procedures, and equipment usage. With flexible pacing, most participants finish in under two weeks.

  • Each caregiver can typically provide up to 56 hours per week. However, exact limits may vary depending on your care plan and Medicaid’s approvals.

  • To qualify for the AMFC program, children must under 21 years old and be eligible for skilled nursing or respite care, and have Medicaid. If you’re unsure about your child’s status, we can guide you through the assessment process.

  • Yes. As long as your child qualifies for Private Duty Nursing (PDN) or respite under Medicaid, you can choose to use the AMFC program even if you aren’t currently utilizing PDN hours.
